We take your privacy very seriously. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, and the online privacy guidelines of CT Turning To Youth and Families, we do not sell, share or rent any personally identifying information about you.

We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13, to remain consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998.

Information You Submit

The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting this site. If you want to post comments, send messages, chat or blog you will be asked to register for the site.

If you choose to submit a request to the "Contact Us" submission page, we will request your e-mail address only for the purpose of responding. We do not store or share these e-mail addresses and it is not required that an email address be entered here.

CTYF has no intention of suppressing our bloggers, but until there is better guidance on these murky privacy and legal matters we reserve the right to review all entries and not post every blog/forum entries or comments submitted if they are viewed as disrespectful, threatening, abusive, unsafe or inconsistent with recovery core values.

Pursuant to Connecticut Public Act 08-167, “An Act Concerning Confidentiality of Social Security Numbers”, CTYF hereby advises you of its policy about safeguarding personal information.

As defined in the Act, "personal information" means information capable of being associated with a particular individual through one or more identifiers, including, but not limited to, a Social Security number, a driver's license number, a state identification card number, an account number, a credit or debit card number, a passport number, an alien registration number or a health insurance identification number, and does not include publicly available information that is lawfully made available to the general public from federal, state or local government records or widely distributed media.

The Act states that personal information that CTYF acquires from you must be safeguarded against misuse by third parties and that CTYF "shall destroy, erase or make unreadable such data, computer files and documents prior to disposal."

Personal information with regard to you that is collected on this Web Site is maintained by the CTYF finance staff. It is CTYF’s policy to restrict access to such files to only finance personnel, management personnel and company legal counsel all with a need to know, and to destroy personal information upon disposal of the files. It is also the policy of the company to (i) protect the confidentiality of Social Security numbers, (ii) prohibit unlawful disclosure of Social Security numbers, and (iii) limit access to Social Security numbers.
