This holiday season CTYF needs your help! As volunteers and an ad-free website we are relying on your help to get us into 2010 and beyond...
We really appreciate your generosity and support!
"By the time I was 17 my parents and friends alike were telling me I had a problem with drugs and alcohol. I didn't believe them, I would respond, 'No, I just like to party'. It wasn't until I was able to connect and meet other peers my age who sounded like me and felt like me, that I began to realize I might not be as in control as I thought. My personal denial of 'I'm too young to have a problem' was smashed when I realized I wasn't alone. Support from other sober young people was there to help me make my beginning into recovery and give me hope to the possibilities of living clean and sober. Continued support from sober peers has guided and helped me to sustain my recovery as I continue my journey as a sober young person who hasn't had the need to pick up a drink or drug since July 15th, 2001." - Greg W.
CTYF provides peer-to-peer recovery support by telephone. All of our youth coaches have been there, and can share their hope. We are here to listen. CTYF offers regular, scheduled weekly telephone support calls to youth just to "check in" and see how things are going. Telephone support can help you figure out where to go and how to access treatment and recovery supports like housing, employment and sober social supports. Sometimes it's just nice to have someone to check in with or to have someone call to just say hello and ask how it's going.
Coming Soon: A place to go to share your experiences, feelings and wisdom.
